(English) He is the first and foremost historian responsible for the records of South Korea. He has been devoted to records for 25 years and has established the framework of the current national record management system. He graduated from the Department of Korean History at Seoul National University and majored in history at the graduate school of the University of Tokyo. He is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Archives and Information Science at Myongji University, as well as serving as the President of the Korean Society of Records Management and the Director of the National Archives of Korea. In 1998, he established the National Archives of Korea and worked with the Ministry of Public Administration and Security to enact the Record Management Act in 2000. In the same year, he founded the Graduate School of Archives and Information Science at Myongji University, the first professional graduate school in the field of record management in South Korea.
