Choi Yeon-ju freely draws everything she observes closely, imagines with delight, and loves dearly. Most of her works begin as doodles and then develop into completed pieces. Together with her father, she runs a small brand, Hugin & Munin. Her debut picture book Mo’s Story received a Special Mention in the Opera Prima category at the 2024 BolognaRagazzi Awards, won the Gold Prize at the 2025 Japan Bookhouse Cafe Picture Book Awards, the Passionnant Mini prize at the 2025 French Sorcières Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, was shortlisted for the 2025 Italian Premio Andersen, and won the Debut Author Award at the 2025 Italian Premio Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi.
