Park Hansik graduated from Seoul National University with a Politics degree, received his MA at American University, and received his doctoral degree at the University of Minnesota. He taught International Relations at the University of Georgia and retired in 2015. In 1994, Park organized former U.S. president Jimmy Carter's visit to Pyongyang, and Bill Clinton’s visit in 2009. He promoted a talk 'Three-Way Track II' and got the nickname The Peacemaker of North Korea and the U.S.
