Baek Myeongshik (M) was born on Ganghwa island and majored in Western Art. He was editor-in-chief of a children's book publisher, and still writes and paints children's books. He received the illustration award and planning award from the Hankook Ilbo for Teens, and the Joong-Ang Advertising Award. 

His collections include The Pig School (40 volumes), The Human Science Picture Book (5 volumes), Hello? Korean History (6 volumes), Delicious Tables (7 volumes), Smelly Books (5 volumes), Microbiological Books (4 volumes), and he has also written a fairy tale book, Goblin's Meal.
