(English) Author Nam Yoon-Leaf has loved buses since she was young. When the author sees the expressions and eyes of the people on the bus, she wonders how their day was. Sitting by folks who sometimes doze off, Nam imagines each of their stories. We accompany the author as she doesn’t just pass by the passengers, but rather watches them with warmth and smiles as she goes home. The author’s first book, Bus, was selected by American Illustration 37 and was awarded distinguished merit at the 3X3 Picture Book Show in 2018. What could be called a sequel, On the Bus was chosen to be part of the 2018 exhibition “Un-Printed Idea” at the Hyundai Museum of Kids’ Books and Art, where it was praised by museum attendees.
