(Japanese) ソウルで生まれて育ち、延世大学と同大学院で韓国の文学を勉強した。小説10冊と詩集2冊を出版し、子供たちのための本で長編小説『貝と巨人』と民潭集『世の中のバカたち』を発表した。翻訳した本では『やなぎに吹く風』、『ヒックとドラゴン』シリーズなどがある。

Won Jae-gil was born in Seoul and graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in History. He later received a degree in Korean Language and Literature from the graduate school of the same university. To date, Won has published 12 novels and 2 collections of poems and written children's books such as Sora and the Giant and Bullet Fart as well as the collection of folktales "Fools of the World". Books translated by Won Jae-gil include the Taming the Dragon series, Secrets of Dreams, Secrets of the Heart, and Guava. He now writes and draws pictures in the mountain village of Wonju in the Gangwon province and lives with his wife and daughter, two dogs, and a pair of chickens.
