Kim Namil (M) was born in Suwon in 1957. He studied Dutch at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and began his career as a writer with Literature of Our Generation in 1983. He has written novels, Diary of a Young Man; Border and Rabbit Genius Cha Sang Mun, the collections of stories Work, Food and Freedom; Invincible; A Morning of the World; and How to Go Down a Mountain, the collections of essays Book, the classic story The Story of Jeonwoochi, and the critical biography Biography of An Byeongmu. He has won the Beautiful Writer Award and Violet Literary Award, and received the 2012 Kwon Jeongsaeng Creative Writing Fund.
