Hwang Kyuseob began his literary career through his entry in the MBC Creative Fairy Tale Competition. Hwang has since won the May 18 Memorial Cultural Award and the Korean Award for Hans Christian Andersen. To date, books published by Hwang Kyuseob include Dad and the Green Dinosaur, My Mother in Witch Clothes, and A Discarded Pair of Slippers.
