(English) Kim Sooyoung studies, writes, and speaks about philosophy. He graduated from the Department of Biochemistry at Yonsei University and received a master’s degree in Platonic Philosophy at the same university’s Graduate School of Philosophy. Afterwards, he received his doctorate from the University of Konstanz in Germany with a study on Plato’s The State.
He served as chief editor and head of the publishing house Munhakgwa Jiseongsa (Literature and Intellectual History). He founded a publishing house Rhodos and published various liberal arts books, while teaching philosophy-related subjects at universities. He worked as a director at the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency for 3 years from 2018.
He is currently a professor in the Department of Creative Writing at Hanyang Women’s University. He has written a regular column for daily newspapers and has lectured on a number of attractive topics in philosophy at high schools, universities, and corporations.
