Kim Makdong,  Kim Jeomsun,  Do Gwirye,  Park Jeomrye,  An Giim,  Yang Yanggeum,  Yun Geumsun,  Jo Namsun,  Choi Yeongja

They are nine granny poets who live in Gokseong, South Jeolla Province, and make a living through farming. They learned Korean from Director Kim Seonja, and they received numerous culture awards for the poems they wrote. After a collection of their poetry was published, they gained a lot of fame and were even featured in the documentary film Granny Poets. Despite the newfound success, they continue to sow the fields each spring and to write down any poetry that comes to mind on scrap paper, like the back of a calendar, before bringing it to Director Kim. They also published a picture book featuring drawings along with a series of poems titled Snow Gently Falls to the Ground.
