Shin Min-jae studied painting and design at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at Hongik University and later trained in picture book-making at the Hanguk Illustration School (HILLS). She has illustrated numerous children’s books, including We Chose the Wrong Class President Again; Talking Back Backwards; Hey Kids, Let’s Go to School!; I’m Selling My Sty; Making Condiments at Gaeul’s House; Great Grandma Is One Hundred Years Old; and Welcome Dog, Jjambbong Gym. Among them, Making Condiments at Gaeul’s House and Hey Kids, Let’s Go to School! were featured in school textbooks. She is also the author and illustrator of Hi, Loner; My Sister Is a Pig!; The Day When Trees Disappeared; Welcome, Ms. Schnail; Run, Ms. Schnail; See You Again, Ms. Schnail; and Ms. Schnail in the Cafeteria.​​
