(English) Lee Wanbeom is a professor in the Division of Social Science at the Academy of Korean Studies. He specializes in political diplomacy, and while staying away from the historical evaluation of major events as either successes or failures, he stresses the importance of self-reflective historical evaluation. He has published over 100 papers, and his published titles include North and South Korea during Carter’s Presidency (2017), The Korean History of Division (2013), The Truth Behind the Demarcation of 38th Parallel (2001), The Korean War: An International Perspective (2000), Park Chung-hee and the Miracle of the Han River: The First Five Years and the Nation of Exportation (2006), and The First Three Years after Liberation, from 1945 to 1948 (2007). He also co-authored Changing Perspectives Around the Time of Liberation volumes 1, 2, and 3.
