Author Park Moon-young works with her cats Fine and Dust in a small town in a southern province. She mainly works on novels, comics, and illustrations, and writes a picture diary every day. In the 1st Cubic Note Short Story Contest, she received an award for “Breakup,” and in the 2nd Sci-Fi Awards, she received the Grand Prize for her novella The Country of the Mantis. In addition to novels, she created a series of picture books Let’s Play While Drawing, a comic book Spring Flowers Are Also Seasonal (together with a co-author), and a webtoon about endangered species called Will We Live Forever? The co-authored expanded version of Will We Live Forever? as a collection of comic essays was selected as an Excellent Book by the South Korean Ministry of Environment in 2018. Park Moon-young wants to travel slowly through the vast breadth and depth of the sci-fi genre, bringing along readers who ordinarily find this genre too remote and dark. She is interested in out-of-place things, objects that seem grotesque and helpless but aren’t really, and the emotions and psychology of women, children, and adolescents
