Keum Jangtae (M) graduated from the Seoul National University College of Religious Studies and obtained his PhD from the Sungkyunkwan University Graduate School of Asian Philosophy. He has worked as professor at Dongduk Women's University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Seoul National University, and is currently honorary professor of religious studies at Seoul National University. Books he has written include In-depth Theories of Korean Confucianism (2002), Understanding of Taoism in Korean Confucianism (2006) and Silhak and Seohak (2012).
