Jeong Seungmo (M) graduated with a degree in Anthropology from Seoul National University, received his master's degree from the same graduate school, and received a doctorate from the Academy of Korean Studies. He has studied at the Taedong Center for Eastern Classics and worked as arts researcher at the National Folk Museum of Korea. Now, as Director of the Research Center of Regional Culture, he focuses on stuyding regional diversity of Korean culture and discovering materials related to the history, geography, folklore and society of each region. He published an interpretation for Hong Seok Mo's Dongguksesigi and Joseon Dynasty almanac. Books written by him include Seasonal Customs in Korea, Korea's Traditional Market, Korean Genealogy, and Late Chosun Community Structure Study.
