(English) Born in Seoul, Lee Sun Young majored in creative writing at Hanyang Women’s College and studied at the graduate school of Dankook University. A historical mystery novel, Silence of A Millennium set in Ancient Greece won her the Korea New Wave Literary Award with prize money of one hundred thousand won, thereby allowing her debut as a writer.
The Man’s Novel about conspiracy and betrayal set in the South Korean literary establishment, The Last Child of God, questioning the existence of a divinity, and I Can’t Find You, Nightingale, looking back on the scars of the Korean War, are the books she wrote, showing how she is not limited to a single genre.
Presently, she teaches creative writing in college.
