(English) Born in 1971, and from Busan, South Korea, Lee Jong-Phil majored in physics at Seoul National University and also received an M.S. and Ph.D., in particle physics. He worked as a researcher at Yonsei University, the Korea Institute for Advanced Study, and Seoul National University of Science and Technology; and he was a research professor at Korea University. At present, he is an associate professor at Sang-huh College of Konkuk University. He is the author of The Classic Physics, Very Special Lectures on the Theory of Relativity by Lee Jong-Phil, In Search of the Divine Particle, and Science Brunch. He has translated the following books: The Dream of A Final Theory, The Black Hole War, Black Holes (by Stephen Hawking), and The Theoretical Minimum. His short story, “The Expedition of Dongbang Hong” was published in the SF anthology called Trembling Hand. The War of Light is his first full-length novel.
