(English) The author defines himself as a 'photo healer'. When he was working as a photojournalist in the monthly 'Horse' and 'The Hankyoreh Newspaper', he began to think about the usefulness of photography. Through six visits to North Korea, it took off the frame of ideology and captured the daily lives of North Koreans who are no different from ours. Chairman Kim Jong-il knew him as a southern photographer. As a professional photopsychologists who communicates the power of photography to heal and recover, he is conducting a photo healing program for those who have been injured by state violence or poor social safety nets, such as 5·18 torture victims and espionage manipulation victims in the 70s and 80s.

He published 'Million Flowers', 'Kim Gwang-seok, in the afternoon he misses', and his photobooks include 'Cambodia: Dirt, Water, Wind and Life', and 'All The Same: Daily Life in the North'.
