Im Seongsoon studied Korean language and literature at Sungkunkwan University. Since his childhood, Im wasn't into academics, but he was always intrigued by novelties such as manhwa, films, and games. As the first digital generation exposed to computer and internet, he always dreamt of becoming an author. During his college years, Im was involved in various film scenario activities as part of a directing team associated with director Kwak Kyung-taek. 

Im received the 6th World Literature Award with his novel Consultant and a Munhakdongne Young Author Award with his short story Predators and Sheep Roaming a Corridor. Every one of Im's publications have drawn attention for his unusual imagination and artful storytelling.
