Sim Kyungho received bachelor's and master's degrees in Korean language and literature from Seoul National University, South Korea, and Ph.D. in literature from Kyoto University, Japan. Currently, he is a professor of Classical Chinese at Korea University. He also heads the Institute for Sinographic Literatures and Philosophy, and The Association of Korean Literature in Chinese. He has won multiple prizes including the Shirakawa Shizuka East Asian Characters and Culture Award, the Kim Daljin Literary Award, and the Wolbong Writing Award. He was also chosen as a Distinguished Scholar in humanities and social sciences by the National Research Foundation of Korea. He has authored Literature and Thoughts of Kanghwa School (Vol. 1-4); Joseon Literature in Chinese Characters and Poetics; Understanding of Korean Poetry in Chinese Characters; and many more.
