(English) Kim Yi-hwan was born in Seoul in 1978. Since the publication of The Ghost of Ebitergen in 2004, he has published the short story collections Good Luck and It's Dangerous Outside the Bed and novels including The Boy Who Collects Socks, The Orb of Despair, Neighborhood War, Open, Dessert World, Now the Superman Is, Forest with No One, To the Magic Castle to Find Mom, and Riding a Messy Spaceship. He also participated in five joint compilations of short stories including Korean Fantasy Short Stories. He won the first Multi-Literary Award for The Orb of Despair in 2009 and the second Young Writer's Award for his short story "Your Transformation" in 2011.
