Kim Sung-mi studied visual design in university and has long dreamed of becoming a picture book author. She hopes to bring joy to readers through her stories and illustrations. Her picture books include Hello, Neighbors, Friends, Space Ferris Wheel, and Pig Dream. Hello was selected for inclusion in first-grade elementary Korean language textbooks and has been translated and published in France, Australia, China, Taiwan, and other countries.​
