Kim Dong su studied Painting at university. During her senior year, Kim received the grand prize at the Grand Publication Art Exhibition. In the following year, Kim won the Creative Picture Book Competition hosted by Borim Press for her first book, How I Caught a Cold, which set her on the path to a picture book writer. Acknowledged as a picture book artist with simplicity and frankness, a chidlike attitude that is not bound by customs, Kim is called an artist who paints with the eyes and heart of a child. Her books have been published overseas in many countries like France, Japan and China. Books written and illustrated by Kim include Kiss-Kiss with Mom, How I Caught a Cold, Invincible Rubber Motor, and Goodbye, Bye. Books he has illustrated include School Day, At Grandmother's House, I Only Want to Know, and Watermelon Seed.
