(English) Lee Seonga began her career as a writer by releasing her short story, “Mio’s Country” in 1998. She received the 2014 Segye Ilbo Literary Award for her novel, Why Did the Cormorant Go to Sea?, the 2018 Yi Tae-jun Literary Award for her short story, “Painting Shadows,” and the Jeju April 3 Peace Literary Award in 2021 with her novel Come, Oh Night! She has published the collection of stories, How Close Is the Typhoon? and Climax.
