Jee Hera (F) was born in Yesan, South Chuncheong Province, and grew up in Seoul. She majored in Japanese Literature at university, learned hwagak crafts under master Lee Jae-man, who is designated as Important Intangible Cultural Asset, and studied illustration at Hanguk Illustration School. The book A Story Told Stitch by Stitch from the Fingertips is based on the works of many artisans such as chimseonjang (needlework), jasujang (embroidery), and nubijang (quilting) from the late Joseon Dynasty to the beginning of the 20th century.
