Kwon Jungsaeng (M) was born in 1937 in Tokyo, Japan, and came to Korea right after the Korean Independence. He started his career as a writer with Doggy Poo, which won the Christian Children’s Literature Award in 1969, and Mommy and Cotton Jacket, which won the Chosun Ilbo Annual Spring Literary Contest in 1973. Until Kwon passed away in 2007, he was loved by many readers because his genuine stories showed warm affection towards small and insignificant things and embraced the lives of those who suffered in the past.
