- Book Intro
-
These days, violence and hatred toward the weak make their way to news media, and it is important to teach kids how to live in harmony with others. Children's literature always has to take the side of the vulnerable from the beginning on the end, but The Cat living in Flower Island presents a different direction for children's literature books as it emphasizes the importance of living in harmony equally instead of only the strong being generous to the weak. The vulnerable and weak animals gather together, and through this union, readers can naturally learn why they ought to acknowledge each other and harmonize with one another. The author's perspectives and voice bring out belief in and love toward humankind while truly showing that reality is trustworthy.
