Three Seconds of Diving is a book from Jung Jin-ho. He is an author who is attracting attention around the globe and also a winner of the Golden Goblin Award, Korean Hans Christian Andersen Awards, and the BolognaRagazzi Award at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
There once was a kid who was nothing special. He couldn’t run fast, he couldn't solve math problems, and he ate slower than the other kids. Despite living in a time where everyone has to be better and faster than others, this young boy didn’t want to beat others. He liked diving boards, something where everyone can jump into the water in three seconds regardless of their weight, height, or grade. This young boy loves the times when he can enjoy laughing with his friends.
Becoming a winner is not the only important thing. This book reminds us of real values that can be missed in competition.
