- Overview
-
A book that opens a locked door called chemistry.
- Book Intro
-
Chemistry is a subject that is sometimes required learning in secondary education, but it's also the cause of headaches for many children. Everyone goes through middle school and high school and learns the “facts” and gains the “knowledge” that all substances are made of atoms. This soon becomes “common sense.” However, has this “common sense” actually cleared up the questions and curiosities we had in our childhood?
The setting for this book is “some neighborhood” in Korea where we live, and the concerns that the “son” has are actually felt by all Korean children. His father, who majored in chemistry, kindly answers the son's questions with patience. All illustrations in this book were hand-drawn by the author himself.

- Recommendation
-
"I recommend this book to anyone who wants to see the world through the eyes of science, especially adolescents and college students who are new to chemistry." - Kim Beom-jun (Professor, Department of Physics, Sungkyunkwan University; Author of The Physics of World Objects), 2019 "No field dominates our lives like science. This book opens the door to chemistry. A life without aversion to chemistry. Now that is a wise life." - Jeong-mo Lee (Director of the Gwacheon National Science Museum), 2019 "Who knew you could write such a wonderful book about chemistry? I thank the author for writing a book that can show off chemistry in more ways than one. Now, even a liberal arts major like myself can have fun with chemistry because of this magical book." - Kim Kyeong-jip (Humanities Scholar; Author of Kyeong-jip's Lecture on Insight), 2019
