(French) Je veux être un oiseau.
Un homme qui peignait un grand bâtiment suspendu à une longue corde murmure : « Ce serait pratique si j'avais des ailes » et imagine : « Alors, que diriez-vous de devenir un oiseau ? Le lendemain, il se réveilla et découvrit qu'il était un oiseau comme il le souhaitait. Il monte sur les hauteurs, survole la mer et fait un long voyage. Cependant, il existe de nombreuses situations inconfortables et dangereuses même si vous devenez un oiseau. Devant un chat plus effrayant que la pluie et la neige, l'homme finit par imaginer autre chose. La dernière scène de transformation en chat fait rire les lecteurs.

Маляр, который красил небоскреб, подвешенный на веревке подумал, насколько было бы удобнее выполнять работу, если бы у него были крылья. И он начинает представлять себя птицей. На следующее утро, когда он проснулся, он на самом деле стал птицей! Он взмывал над скалами и над морем, летал в далекие страны. Но оказалось, что птицы также сталкиваются с опасностями и неудобствами. Дождь и снег, это еще ничего, перед самым страшным существом кошкой. И маляр начинает воображать себя кошкой. И эта последняя сцена книги не может не вызвать смех у читателей.
(English) I wish I were a Bird
The guy who is the main character in this book started to understand others through his experiences of being a bird. As he became a bird, he could go to a higher place so easily and fly over the wide ocean as much as he wanted. But he could not fly on snowy or rainy days and got lonely sometimes. And being chased by a cat was horrible. A bird which seemed so free. He realized that birds also have some troubling moments and go through inconveniences like the human that he once was.
However, the author didn’t force readers to take a lesson like going back to reality thinking “being a human is better” or being content with the present. Rather, he wanted to be a cat leading us to another world. Children could be a bird or a cat with the guy through this story and start to realize that everything which seems perfect to others has their own defects and troubles.

Han Byoungho
(Russian) Автор родился и вырос в Сеуле. В университете обучался по специальности корейская традиционная живопись, в настоящее время работает иллюстратором и писателем детских книг. В 2005 г. впервые среди корейских писателей получил премия лучшего иллюстратора "Золотое яблоко" BIB в Братиславе. В 2014 г. выдвигался на премию Андерсена. Среди написанных и иллюстрированных его книг "Хочу стать птицей", "Можно встретиться в горном ущелье Мисан", "Страшный Ку-ка-ре-ка" и др. Среди книг иллюстрированных автором "Пошли в горы!", "Пустой дом", "День выдры", "Собака-след", "В объятиях папы" и др.
(English) Han Byoungho won the Golden Apple Award in the BIB with his work I Wish I Were a Bird, and received the International Hans Christian Andersen Award nomination in 2014. Picture books written and drawn by Han Byoungho include I Wish I Were a Bird, Scary Cock-A-Doodle-Doo and Things We Can See at the Masan Valley. Books illustrated by Han include The Footprint Dog, Cheongyangjang, The Invitation to a Birthday Party in the Woods, The Hen and the Dog and An Empty House.
