(English) At What Price Can I Buy the Iron Man Suit?
The author, Park Byeongryul, believes that to acquire the ability to interprest the situation of the economy, we must first become familiar with it. Therefore, he makes the economy easier to understand through films, literature, and popular culture. This book helps us gain a better understanding of the economy using our imagination which is as fascinating as a film and as funny as a comic book.
The author approaches the principles of economics using films, classical stories, and comics that are familiar to us, including The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Heungbu and Nolbu, The Ant and the Grasshopper, Tazza, Showpiecer, The Avengers and Harry Potter. The author considers scarcity that human desires determine the value of an object, as seen in the relationship between the Little Prince and the rose. Considering the glacier that the baby dinosaur Dooly was riding on, he allows us to mull over the proper understanding of common land and environmental degradation caused by human avarice. In addition, the prince’s search for the owner of the glass shoe makes us think about what signals we must send out in the fully competitive market.
