Overview

(English) Love and solace between a daughter and her handicapped father.

Book Intro

(Russian)

(English) Don't be sorry, Dad!

My father is not able to walk. He said he has been like this since his childhood. So he says sorry to me often. He is always sorry because he is not able to ride a bicycle with me, not able to skate with me in winter, not able to swim and play together with me. Yet, I do not care a bit. I like ice-fishing with him and making sandcastles at the beach with him a lot better. He always worries a lot. But I am so happy that I can be with him every day!

This picture book features a touching story about a handicapped father who loves his daughter immensely and his daughter who maturely consoles her father. The author shares her autobiographical story with heartwarming illustrations and an artful narrative. In the book, the father is always looking at his daughter. He tries to stay with her and read her mind. To the daughter, her father's disability does not matter at all. Don't Be Sorry, Dad! was presented at the 2015 Bologna Children's Book Fair and has been published in various countries including Britain and Singapore.
