Overview

A full-length story for elementary school readers in the upper grades about an eventful week during a major power outage.

Book Intro

(Russian)

(English) Blackout

This story is set in a city hit by a massive blackout as the summer heat wave continues. Electronic devices stop working and supermarkets are emptied in panic buying and rioting. All this happens when Dongmin, an elementary school boy, and Donghee, his middle-schooler sister, are left alone while their parents are on a business trip abroad. Through this story, readers will learn the significance of energy in the modern world. Originally written for children, it is also a good read for adolescents.
