Overview

A touching story with a letter-format narrative that goes beyond time and space and features a warm, beautiful ending.

Book Intro

The misdelivered letter that travels back in time has the deceased mom and her daughter meet each other.

In 2016, with the second marriage of her dad around the corner, Eunyu feels uneasy. Her dad suggests that she write a letter to herself living in the future--a year from now. But the letter travels back in time to 34 years ago and arrives at another Eunyu living in 1982. Eunyu of the past, who suspects that the letter might be from a spy since it is filled with newly coined words, and Eunyu of the present, who misunderstands that the reply is written by someone for a joke. The relationship between the two that started creakingly develops into one in which they can share their worries and secrets from the point of clearing up the misunderstanding thanks to the ‘lucky coin.’ They decide to solve the problems of each other using the time in which each of them are living. Eunyu of the present lets Eunyu of the past, being constantly compared to her sister, know the things in the future that would be helpful to her; Eunyu of the past tries to find the ‘mom’ who gave birth to Eunyu of the present. Based on the information from Eunyu of the present, Eunyu of the past takes the challenge to search for the mom and dad of another Eunyu. While repeating the failures due to the erroneous beginning, Eunyu of the past comes to have an unexpected meeting at an unexpected place. There was another rope that has connected the two of them aside from the letter. From this moment, the story faces a new turning point.

While Eunyu in 2016 lives through a year, Eunyu in 1982 lives through 20 years. The difference of the pace alters the relationship between them in various ways and makes them enter the world of each other that was once perfectly unfamiliar. Reaching the end of the story, the moment the worlds of the two are joined, two Eunyus come to know that what miracle has happened to them and readers will nod as they understand the reason the letters of the two Eunyus couldn’t help but reach each of them traversing a long time.
