- Book Intro
-
This is an abridged version of 100 years of Korean jazz. A Rediscovery of Korea Jazz Records focuses on the creativity of the Korean jazz albums, which were not properly highlighted compared to books primarily dealing with foreign jazz, and introduces records not easily found to be known to readers. This book mainly focuses on capturing album jacket pictures and information so that everyone can read them. Accordingly, even if one does not know much about Korean jazz, one can mentally perceive the album while looking at the pictures and introduction of it. In addition, this book strived to refrain from difficult and complicated criticism and to deliver the hidden stories of the albums. Approximately 150 albums of historic value were selected and written including Diana of デイシク.ミネ(Dick Mine) of 1936 in the Japanese colonial era as well as Eom Tomi, Jeong Seong-jo, Yu Bok-seong, Shin Gwan-wung, and Choi Seon-bae who are collectively the first generation of jazz.
