Book Intro

Twenty-Five, Thirty, A Trip Abroad is a travel essay. But it doesn't start at Incheon International Airport, because travel starts from the very moment you decide to go on a trip! So, Twenty-Five, Thirty, A Trip Abroad starts 215 days before departure.

The book includes the whole process of the journey in three parts. "Part 1: Deciding to Go" starts from the Han sister's making the decision to telling their parents, ordering travel backpacks, re-packing their bags countries times, cancelling any automatic payments and quitting their jobs. All this process is very realistic. Finally, D-Day arrives! In "Part 2: Departure," the Han sisters start their travels in Russia. They go to a number of European countries, such as the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, England, and Croatia, then cross over to America and go to South America and various places in Asia. In the Trans-Siberian Express, they find joy in one piece of scorched rice, and in New York, they quarrel just like real-life sisters. They decide to live for one month in Cuzco, Peru, South America, to take a short break and make the trip up to Machu Picchu. At first, they are startled at the big and small insects they encounter in their rooms. But later, they come to think of them as "cute" and are okay when a lizard eats their breakfast. Beyond what they saw, heard and felt, they enjoyed activities such as sky diving and zip lining, and they went on a cafe tour, a long-time hobby of the author. "Part 3: Looking Back" includes 400 days of know-how, from preparing for departure to return, with a detailed checklist and travel routes, transportation and travel expenses and a Q&A. This will be an eye opening guide for readers who want to go somewhere.
