Overview

This is a story about women who want to be women.

Book Intro

Women who haven't had their periods, women who will never have their periods, women who start their periods again, and women who still have their periods. A story about women who want to be women

This novel, seen through the eyes of a fifteen-year-old adolescent girl, vividly depicts a family in which all the members—the protagonist, her mother, her aunt, and her older sister—experience premenstrual syndrome. Although having periods is an experience that only women go through, all of the events that unfold in the novel are portrayed in a realistic way that everyone, regardless of gender, can enjoy.

Substantial praise for Kelly Kitchen, especially by female poets, show us how entertaining and deep the story is: "A considerate, refreshing, and vibrant coming-of-age novel." - Korean poet Hwang In-sook; "A novel that invigorates readers to face and overcome life obstacles.” - Korean poet Jo Un.

As though caught in a summer shower, readers will be enticed by the delightful yet touching stories of four women who experience their periods and feel "pain and pleasure” in their own distinctive ways. This coming-of-age story is highly recommended for those who are in the middle of adolescence or have children in adolescence."
