Overview

My mom does not love me. I can tell you for sure!

Book Intro

I’m sure my mom is not really my mom!

All of us harbored this suspicion one time or another when we were young.

Every time mom nags or scolds, this suspicion creeps in. Likewise for Marie. When Marie’s mom constantly nags and even throws out the puppy that Marie picked up from the streets, Marie becomes more convinced that mom is not her real mom and decides to leave the house. She sets out looking for her real mom, one that will truly love her.

Marie meets a new mom on the streets. The fabulous, tall woman who used to be a model in her younger days agrees to become Marie’s mom. The new model mom dolls up Marie and Marie feels loved and satisfied.

But, that feeling of being loved does not last long. Marie soon feels uncomfortable with what her new mom dresses her in.

“Mom, this dress is too uncomfortable. I want to take it off.”

“You just have to cope with it if you truly want to become fabulous.”

Marie becomes disappointed with her new model mom and sets out looking for another mom. A gold medalist mom, a baker mom and a nice bookstore mom.

But Marie finds out that none of them truly loves her and she continues on her journey to find her real mom.

Who is Marie’s real mom, one that truly loves Marie?

Join Marie’s journey to finding her real mom.

About the Author

Yoo Myeongkeum

(English) Drawings have been the favorite thing for Yoo Myeongkeum ever since he was a little child. Attracted to the wonder of picture books, Yoo currently enjoys her work as a picture book writer. Yoo created The Clockwork Child based on the pleasures she couldn't recognize when she was in hurry but realized as she decided to live a slower life. Books Yoo has authored include Let's Play, Rain!, The Clockwork Child.

'Mom, you nag too much!' my child told me one day. I thought I was giving love and attention to my child, but I guess it was nothing more than nagging. With the hope that children will listen to what their mothers have to say as a form of love, I wrote this book.
