Overview

This is a picture biography introducing the renowned children's book writer, Hans Christian Andersen.

Book Intro

This seriese is designed to help preschoolers to learn and understand well-noted historical figures featured in elementary school textbooks in a fun, easy way. While these books help children with their school education, they are organized to meet the level of children who are reading biographies for the first time in life. Rather than relying on long, dry narratives about the figures' lives, they cover key incidents and achievements in a children’s story format so that children can learn to enjoy reading biographies. Children become curious about a historical figure whenever their name appears in a textbook, wondering “what kind of person was he/she to be featured in a textbook?”

Hans Christian Andersen is one of the Famous Biographies for Kids series. it delivers a powerful message to curious children, who can see their own reflection in the childhoods of famous figures. Seeing how these great figures realized their dreams should bring a smile, or at least help children imagine how they might make their own dreams come true. The book introduces stories about the extraordinary talents of these famous people as well as fun exciting stories from their childhood. Andersen, who wrote The Steadfast Tin Soldier, The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor’s New Clothes and The Little Mermaid, was born in a poor country town in Denmark. How did he become a person that we still talk about today? In fact, Andersen originally dreamed of becoming an actor. The story of how he became an outstanding children’s story writer instead can be found in this book.
