(English) My Friend, Momo
My Friend Momo tells the story of a friendship between a girl and a cat. Even though unexpected events sometimes make them feel sad, they eventually recognize the unconditional love they have for each other. Apart from the heart-warming story, the illustrator uses various materials and techniques (gouache, stencil, pencil, collage, computer graphic, etc) for full-page illustrations in well-balanced achromatic and chromatic colors. The results are bold, yet lyrical illustrations that add unique charm to the book.

『私の友達モモ』はある少女と猫の友情を描いた絵本だ。時には思いがけないことで悲しむこともあるが、ついにお互いに対する条件のない愛を確認できる心が暖かくなる話を描いた。

Hwang Mi-sun
(English) Hwang Miseon studied printmaking at Hongik University, and presently she works as a picture book writer and an illustrator. In 2019, she wrote and illustrated My Friend Momo about living together with a cat, which won the World Illustration Awards by the Association of Illustrators of England.
(Japanese) 弘益大学で版画を専攻し、絵本とイラストレーションの仕事を両立しています。ペットの猫のモモの物語を描いた絵本『私の友達モモ』は2019ワールドイラストレーションアウォード 児童書部門に選ばれました。
