Overview

This picture book on the environment seeks peaceful co-existence between nature and humans
by looking into the issue of roadkill through the eco-corridor.

Book Intro

The eco-corridor was constructed as an effort to make roads for animals after realizing that humans have taken theirs and that roadkill has become a serious issue. Considering that it is technically difficult to remove roads and it is important for animals to have their own roads to cross, building eco-corridors on roads has been adopted as one of the solutions.
The Eco-Corridor by Kim Hwang aims at raising the awareness about eco-corridors, the man-made roads for animals. This is a must-read book for people living in today's era of endless development, as it not only calls attention to the horrifying reality of road kill but also explores practical measures through arduous research on humans' role in nature.
The illustrations combined with realistic backgrounds and characters that resemble the ones in cartoons add details to every page of the book while encompassing the story of a flying squirrel. The illustrator's intention for readers to discover the things that animals desperately require and seek with their eyes fixed on readers is portrayed in earnest and comforting paintings.
